I can barely move today. That is because I had practice for both soccer and racquetball yesterday. Man, I had better plan things ahead next year so I don't have to squeeze so much practice in at the last minute. I actually compete in racquetball on Saturday, which is tomorrow. I hope my body can recover by then.

A great Challenge update
Well, it seems that all my nervousness was for naught, because my partner and I came in first place this weekend at the Corporate Challenge Disc Golf competition. Most of the women there had either never played before, or played very little. Our score was 11 strokes ahead of second place in our division. Out of all divisions, there was only one other team that scored 3 less than us, and two other teams that tied our score. The best part is that my partner had a lot of fun and has promised to buy her own discs and keep playing. I love brining in new people to this fun sport! Which reminds me, if anyone wants to play sometime, please let me know. I had almost forgotten how much fun I have throwing a disc around in a park.
Oh, and I should also remark that the two "volunteers" I rounded up for the men's team also did very well. They ended up tying for third place. This puts our company ahead in our division for the overall competition after only 3 events. I hope we can keep up the pace.
I may be playing pool next on May 14th, but I'm hoping to find a substitute. After that, it's on to racquetball and soccer in June. Keep wishing me luck!

Challenge Update
So I have been trying to get ready for Corporate Challenge. The first event is disc golf and I'll be in my first official tournament next Saturday. Yikes!! I've been out to practice only twice so far and will go again one more time before this weekend. Hopefully that is enough.

Random thoughts
So I wanted to test using email to blog from work – the idea is that I’ll actually post more often that way. Ever heard the saying, "Don’t mix friends and business", or something to that effect? Well, I am trying to deal with that lately. I like to be on good terms with my coworkers, and I am currently blessed that I really like the people on my team right now. That means that most of them I would actually consider my friend as well as coworker. Lately, however, this has led to stress on my account when one of my colleagues doesn’t something really stupid. In fact, one person in particular has basically screwed up our application in so many ways lately that it is starting to cause me nightmares. How should I approach this person? He is so happy-go-lucky, that I don’t think he is bothered with the mess that we are dealing with. But I am bothered. I take great pride in my work, and thus in the application that I develop and support, and when it isn’t working right I feel responsible and want to work hard to correct the situation. How do I tell this guy he is a screw-up and I never want to work with him again, but yet I still want to be his friend because he is happy and fun to be around?
Way way WAY behind
I'm hoping some of you out there have been wondering what happened to me and/or my blog. Let me answer a few questions real quick: Yes, I am still alive. Yes, I have been busier than heck (especially at work), but things are starting to calm down. Yes, I got to take my vacation to the Caribbean and yes, it was wonderful. Yes, I did take pictures, but no, I have not loaded them into the computer yet. I plan to try and do some serious updates to this site in the coming weeks, so let me know (via comments or email) if there is anything specific you want to see.

Two Feasts!!
I'm still trying to catch up to current, so enjoy and extra feast today.
Appetizer
If you could be any current celebrity for one whole week, who would you want to be?
Bill Gates -- I'd take control of Microsoft, make the company produce better applications, then donate most of my money to improving the education system of this country.
Soup
On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you enjoy talking on the phone?
About 3. Phones sound horrible anymore, which means I can't understand what people are saying most of the time. Furthermore, it seems people always want to call when I'm busy driving or doing some other activity that requires two hands. I prefer e-mail.
Salad
Name a charitable organization to which you have donated (or would like to).
I have donated money to United Way, food to Harvesters, coats to Project Winter, toys to Red Bags for Children, and sweat to Habitat for Humanity. One of these days, if I ever have more free time, I'd like to do more one-on-one volunteer activities.
Main Course
What is a food you like so much you could eat it every single day for a month?
Well, I practically do that with pasta already. Seafood is another that I absolutely love. But I think this question was trying to get at something more specific. So spaghetti would be my easy back-up, whereas crab would be my first pick.
Dessert
Have you or anyone in your family had the flu this year?
Not yet this year <knocks on wood>
Appetizer
On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 as highest), how much do you like your own handwriting?
I guess a 6. My handwriting is okay, and legible for the most part, but rather boring.
Soup
Do you prefer baths or showers?
Showers, but because they are faster. I do like baths but it takes so much time to fill up the tub and then empty/clean it afterwards.
Salad
What was the last bad movie you watched?
Nothing obvious is coming to mind -- I need to put up recent movie reviews anyway. Stay tuned for more next week!
Main Course
Name something you are addicted to and describe how it affects your life.
Food -- I absolutely love it. I eat too much more often than I should. If there is food in front of me it doesn't matter how hungy or full I am, I will want to eat it. It doesn't even matter if it is a particularly delicious food. I just really, really, really enjoy eating. Thus, my weight is more than I want it to be and thus I am at a constant battle with my body to find the right balance for health and satisfaction.
Dessert
Which instrument is your favorite to listen to?
Since techno is my favorite form of music, the synthesizer is what pops to mind. Some people might not call this an instrument though. If you exclude anything electronic, then I'd probably have to go with the drum.

Feast 181
Appetizer
Who was the last person you hugged?
My husband.
Soup
Share a beauty or grooming trick or tip with us.
These areas are not my strong suit. The only "tip" that comes to mind is that drinking lots of water will help keep your complexion clear.
Salad
What does the color yellow make you think of?
The sun; corn on the cob; summer time! I am so sick of winter right now.
Main Course
If you were to make your living as a photographer, what subject would your pictures revolve around?
The contrast of nature in the middle of industrial civilization. We need more trees.
Dessert
What was the longest book you ever read?
Hmm... I remember The Grapes of Wrath being really long, but Amazon lists the paperback as only having 464 pages. I also read Mists of Avalon in high school and that paperback has 912 pages, so I guess it wins.
